
Company Philosophy
Savarin's takes its name from the famous French gastronome, Jean-Antheleme Brillat-Savarin (1755-1826). Savarin wrote a unique volume entitled The Physiology of Taste (1825), in which he addressed a number of culinary areas, but most importantly, chocolate!Savarin was passionate about chocolate and was writing his book at a time of great change in the chocolate world. During this period chocolate was beginning to be mass produced in large scale factories, using machines instead of chocolatiers.
Savarin understood the importance of the art and skill behind chocolate and was very much against the new machine made chocolate products, even going so far as to pronounce the 'blasphemy of mass produced chocolate'.

It is this same philosophy that is promoted by Savarin's. We seek to source only the finest quality chocolate products, produced only by trained artisan chocolatiers who appreciate the skill and care needed to make each chocolate a little mouthful of heaven!
Savarin's was born out of a frustration of a lack of accessibility to great chocolate products outside of the south of England. Therefore it is our mission to spread the word about great chocolate across the country and enable chocolate novices and connoisseurs alike to sample the very best products on offer.
We have taken many years and travelled many miles to ensure that the brands we are able to offer are of the highest standard. As opposed to many 'luxury' brands out there, where the only thing high quality is the box, you can be sure that every product purchased from Savarin's won't fail to impress and delight!
